Brief description of the training:
One of the indicators of economic growth is the growth of urban space which indicates developments in economic activity. This growth needs to be analysed as a basis for medium-term and long-term planning. To facilitate the analysis of urban growth, it is necessary to assist spatial analysis using the latest technology that can describe the phenomenon of urban growth. In response to these needs, spatial modelling training based on GIS modelling based on remote sensing data and spatial statistics was carried out to measure the level of economic growth in a region. This training was conducted as part of the IRSA pre-conference so that the use of geospatial analysis tools can assist in regional economic analysis.
This two-day training program introduces participants to spatial analysis method for Urban and Regional Growth and Economic Analysis. Designed for beginners, the program focuses on:
- Basic Concepts: Understanding GIS and Remote Sensing for spatial temporal analysis;
- Simulation Examples: Exploring practical applications and simulation;
- Hands-On Practice: Providing opportunities to apply the methods in practice.
By the end of the training, participants will gain the practical knowledge in model development to assess urban and economic growth.

Note:
- We provide PCs in spatial planning and computation laboratory (Spacelab) in Department of Urban and Regional Planning;
- The Training Modul will be delivered 1 (one) week before D-day;
- We limit class size for effectiveness of training delivery. Participants will be selected if number of applications exceeds the optimum class size. Hence please register as soon as possible;
